On January 16-19, 2009, Columbus, Mississippi will host its annual Martin Luther King, Jr.
(MLK) Weekend Celebration. This celebration brings hundreds and thousands of people
together in a show of unity to honor the memory of Martin Luther King, Jr. and to rededicate
themselves to the principles of Freedom and Justice. We hope you are as excited as we
are to be part of the 2009 Martin Luther King, Jr. Weekend Celebration.
The 2009 MLK Weekend Celebration will take place at several venues in Columbus,
Mississippi including the James Trotter Convention Center and facilities on the campus of
Mississippi University for Women. The weekend events will include featured musical
entertainment, comedy acts, fashion show, step show, essay contest, black tie gala, awards
banquet and other activities.
